Job Title: Tax Trainer

Job Overview:
The Tax Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering tax training programs to ensure that tax professionals within the organization or external clients are well-versed in tax laws, regulations, and software systems. The Tax Trainer will create training materials, conduct live training sessions, webinars, and workshops, and provide ongoing support and coaching to enhance the skillset and knowledge of the participants. This role is key in maintaining a high standard of tax compliance and staying updated with changing tax laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deliver training programs on tax compliance, tax preparation, tax software, and regulatory changes

  • Conduct training sessions for new hires, experienced tax professionals, and clients, both in-person and virtually

  • Create comprehensive training materials, including manuals, presentations, and e-learning modules, to support tax learning initiatives

  • Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws, regulations, and tax software to ensure training materials are accurate and relevant

  • Collaborate with tax experts and department managers to identify training needs and develop tailored learning solutions

  • Provide hands-on training on tax software systems, ensuring users are proficient in navigating and utilizing the tools effectively

  • Develop assessments and tests to measure the effectiveness of the training and adjust content based on feedback

  • Offer ongoing support and coaching to employees and clients who require additional guidance or clarification

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of training participants to ensure learning objectives are met

  • Track training metrics and report on the success of the programs, including knowledge retention and application in daily tax tasks

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or related field

  • 3-5 years of experience in tax preparation, tax compliance, or a related role

  • Prior experience in training or teaching, preferably in a tax or financial services environment

  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and tax preparation processes

  • Proficiency with tax software (e.g., Intuit ProSeries, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, CCH Axcess) and strong computer skills (MS Office)

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-experts

  • Ability to develop engaging and effective training materials and resources

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple training programs simultaneously

  • Patience, adaptability, and a passion for helping others learn and grow in their professional roles

  • Professional certifications such as CPA, EA, or CTP (preferred but not required)
