Job Title: Tax Consultant
Location: Boston; Orlando; Houston; New Jersey
Department: Tax Advisory Services
Reports To: Tax Manager/Senior Tax Consultant

Job Overview:
The Tax Consultant will provide expert tax advice and planning services to individuals and businesses. You will assist clients in navigating complex tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance while identifying opportunities for tax optimization. This role requires a strong understanding of tax policies, the ability to perform in-depth tax research, and excellent client-facing communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws

  • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities

  • Perform detailed tax research on complex tax issues and prepare memoranda or reports with findings

  • Analyze financial and tax data to assess client situations and identify opportunities for tax savings

  • Assist clients with tax audits, providing representation and documentation to regulatory authorities

  • Keep up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and inform clients of any relevant updates or potential impacts

  • Collaborate with accounting and legal professionals to ensure cohesive tax planning strategies

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing exceptional service and responding promptly to client inquiries

  • Prepare financial projections and tax forecasts to help clients with planning and decision-making

  • Support clients in areas such as international tax, estate planning, and mergers and acquisitions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or CPA designation preferred)

  • 2-4 years of experience in tax consulting, tax advisory, or a related role

  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations

  • Proficiency with tax software and strong skills in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience conducting complex tax research and analysis

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-specialists

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines
