Job Title: Tax Analyst
Location: Boston; Orlando; Houston
Department: Tax Compliance and Reporting
Reports To: Tax Manager

Job Overview:
The Tax Analyst is responsible for assisting with tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. This role involves preparing and filing tax returns, conducting tax research, and ensuring the company complies with all relevant tax regulations. The Tax Analyst will also assist in the analysis of tax data and provide support during tax audits. This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and a keen interest in tax law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities

  • Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and related financial disclosures for external reporting

  • Conduct research on tax laws, regulations, and rulings to ensure compliance and identify tax savings opportunities

  • Analyze tax data and financial reports to support tax planning strategies

  • Monitor and stay up-to-date with changes in tax regulations and communicate relevant updates to the team

  • Assist in tax audits by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders

  • Reconcile tax accounts and ensure that taxes are properly recorded and paid in a timely manner

  • Support the preparation of estimated tax payments and extensions

  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and other departments to ensure accurate and efficient tax processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred)

  • 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation, tax compliance, or a related role

  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations

  • Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data

  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Knowledge of tax accounting principles and experience with tax provision preparation is a plus
